European Nightjar (Nachtzwaluw): Photogoraphed in Lesbos and Holland. Not really shy. Night-active. Sometimes flying rather close to people, possibly searching warm spots. Sleeps during the day, perfect camouflage. Ground-breeder. Rather soft long thrills used as contact sound can be heard at great distance. Hunting night insects in (warm) sandy territory and near sandpaths. When flying sometimes its white wingspots noticebale.
