Red-backed Shrike (Grauwe Klauwier): Shy. Breeding and feeding young late spring through jaugust. Adults leave july august. Young migrate end august. Behaves like small bird of prey. Uses medium high bush as lookout to catch insects, reptiles and small birds. Sometimes saving his prey by sticking it at thorns or barbed wire.

Great Grey Shrike (Klapekster): Rather shy but also persent in winter in Holland. Also photographed in Lesbos Algarve and Fuerteventura.

Black-crowned Tchagra (Zwartkruintsjagra): rather shy, quite rare, hiphopping in low bush but loud, eloquent and active.
