Because you need essentially different combinations of camera lens converter and settings thereof for your bird action photography and in fact shooth good pictures of birds at larger distances, when you need “reach“, but often and at the same time need this action photography equipment, it is key to buy and use optimal equipment from the beginning on of your bird photography. And unfortunately high quality lightweight equipment is not cheap!

So you have no choice but be smart from the begining on, every time you decide what to buy next. We also started off, decennia ago, using equipment of moderate quality but as soon as our budget afforded it, starting building up a final collection of tripod, camera’s, lenses, converters, telescope and binocular, etcetera in the best possible, but continuously upwards economical trend.
